Hands down this is one of the coolest videos making the rounds on "the internets" these days. Cookie Monster auditioning for Saturday Night Live!!!!.... That sentence alone is fairly epic. Then you throw in the video below and it's Youtube magic!...Enjoy!
Showing the actual Sesame Street during the show intro...fantastic! Plus, I gotta say, he laid down a solid joke during the News "...when reached for comment all he say is, Me feel crummy!" = GOLD!! Cookie Monster, you just blew the doors of Jimmy the Janitor!

Some response to this morning's show has warranted this Blog entry... You ask I deliver, even if it kills me inside....you're welcome.
Talking with Jimmy Hollywood this morning he mentioned how Justin Bieber is heading to rap. Apparently the Beebs is redoing his song "Baby" and he's taken on an alter ego..... And this is where a little piece of Gilmore died today.... For reasons I will never be able to understand, or explain, I know what Justin Bieber's rap name is....trust me, it troubles me I know this!! Anywho, just as I told Jimmy Hollywood, it's "Shawty Mane".... No idea why, but JB's rap alter ego is Shawty Mane.... The fact I'm also sharing this video is also causing a little piece of me to die...Oh, the things I do for you!
In addition to all this Shawty Mane business, Kristina Mameli & I also discussed Justin Bieber pajamas on the show. Yep, word is JB PJs are coming out...There's something very wrong about this if you ask me!...Apparently they'll be purple, his favourite colour....If you wanna look like a Grimace, this could be your chance! ....Kristina continues to investigate where in town you can get some....
You know what, this entry just seems so wrong to me.....I'm thinking a good laugh at Bieber's expense will make me feel better! If you feel the same scroll down to my "Coco & The Beebs" entry for some Gordon Pinsent/This Hour has 22 Minutes comedic GOLD. Or if you are super lazy click THIS

Was looking for Pumpkin designs today... This, one of the coolest I've seen so far!
But movin' on... Another little Hallowe'enish item today. New list is out of the highest earning DEAD Celebrities. These guys make more cash from the grave in a year then most of us will in 10 lifetimes. Doesn't seem right, does it? Interesting to see Albert Einstein on the list. Don't know if I'd consider him a celebrity; Famous Yes, but a Celebrity??.... A discussion then ensued, and Kristina Mameli reminded me Politicians, Scientists (like Einstein), Etc. ARE considered Celebs. By definition, someone well known.... Hmmm, you win this round Mameli! Gonna, need to consult my lawyer, and dictionary on this one!
Anywho, here's the list:
Top Earning Dead Celebrities of 2010: 10. Composer Richard Rodgers ... $7 million. 9. NY Yankees owner George Steinbrenner ... $8 million. 8. Physicist Albert Einstein ... $10 million. 7. Children’s author Dr Seuss ... $11 million. 6. ‘Millennium Trilogy’ author Stieg Larsson ... $15 million. 5. Musician John Lennon ... $17 million. 4. “Peanuts” cartoonist Charles Schulz ... $33 million. 3. “Lord Of the Rings” author JRR Tolkein ... $50 million. 2. Singer Elvis Presley ... $60 million. 1. Singer Michael Jackson ... $275 million.
Quite a diverse list huh?.... Email me anytime HERE --Gilmore
Hallowe'en is on the way, getting excited? Sure bet the kids are. All the tricks, all the treats, all the fun; And of course all the CANDY!!! In a very cool/bizarre scenario turns out the kids in Norway should give Donald Duck all the thanks for their Hallowe'en fun. Hallo'ween is relatively new to the country (only celebrated since the late 1990's). And, many sight Donald Duck as a large influence in the country adopting the holiday...Weird, yet super Awesome!
Perhaps cartoons like this classic are responsible:
Yeah, Donald Duck is awesome. By the way one of my favourite useless facts of all time. Donald Duck cartoon's are banned in Finland, cause he doesn't wear pants!.... Finland the country, not the nearby town... Yaaaa! Finland shout out!!!!
For an article on how Hallowe'en is celebrated in other countries around the world click HERE! And don't forget to check out The Gilmore Fan Page for Hallowe'en costume suggestions. And to post a suggestion of your own...Got a good one, Post it on my wall!!
One more quick hit. For some reason I woke up with The Violent Femmes "American Music" in my head today. Watch the video to re-acquaint yourself with the song!
P.S. Epic bonus points for the 1/2 second of Dennis Miller at the start! I don't wanna get on a Rant here (hey, I couldn't resist!) but if you don't think Dennis Miller is funny I will fight you! He's awesome, like, Donald Duck bringing Hallowe'en to Norway awesome!... ;-) score...double Dennis reference! Drop me a line with your thoughts anytime HERE -Gilmore

Hey everybody, I'm back!! Just back from an excellent vacation home to Southern Ontario including hitting up Oktoberfest in Kitchener/Waterloo. Myself and some Fellow Fort Folk (try saying that 10x fast) took in the festivities, and it was a blast to say the least...Good times, and it's great to be back. Plus, I've got a couple quick vacation notes for you:
First up, a 22 hour straight drive from Waterloo to Fort Frances is long. Epically, epically loooooong....
Second, when it comes to Oktoberfest in K-W. Although billed second only to celebrations in Germany, they need more drink options... Molson Canadian or Coors Light. That was IT at every venue we visited.... It's like just having Lakeport at the Bass Tournament :-O aahhhh!!
And that brings me to this: Yep, a few more beer options woulda been good, but I'm glad these drinks weren't at Oktoberfest! Here's a list of real drink creations someone SHOULDN'T have thought up---
THE NASTIEST COCKTAILS IN HISTORY: • ‘Prairie Oyster’ – Bourbon, Tabasco sauce, and a raw egg, mixed in a blender. • ’Motor Oil’ – Jagermeister, Peppermint Schnapps, Cinnamon Schnapps, and coconut rum. • ‘Bloody Tampon’ – Blend together whiskey, tequila, vodka, lemon juice, Bailey’s, and V8. • ‘Mac & Cheese Jell-O Shot’ – Contains Cheese Rum, milk, macaroni, and Velveeta. • ‘Horse Jizz’ – 1 part beer; 1 part milk. Get a big mug. Pour in one ingredient, then the other. • ‘Hot Mexican Hooker’ – 1 oz tequila; half-ounce Tabasco sauce; liquid from a can of tuna. • ‘Smoker's Cough’ – Pour 1.5 oz Jagermeister into a shot glass; add a spoon of mayonnaise.
Special gross factor points to whoever invented the "Hot Mexican Hooker" ---really Tuna juice!, and although Mayo isn't bad with Tuna, combining it with Jager in a "Smoker's Cough" cannot be good for you... In any way shape or form! haha.
Which one sounds worst to you?.... Have an even nastier drink recipe?... Drop me a line HERE --Gilmore
Well it's an exciting day. The first day of the new NHL season is here! Passed along a few thoughts this morning. Just a little review, here are a few teams I’m thinking will make some noise this year: First up, The Toronto Maple Leafs. Go Leafs Go!! Yes, I’ve drank the Kool-Aid and Yes, I think the Leafs will make the playoffs this year. I’m goin’ bold, infact hopeful for a 6th place finish in the East come playoff time…
Some other mentions. I think Chicago is going to have another great year, even with all their off season changes. And my choices for who to watch for. Interestingly, I find myself back to my Dark Horse picks from last year’s playoffs. In the East, the Buffalo Sabres are the team I’ll be keeping and eye on. In the West it’s the The LA Kings. ---P.S. Ryan Smyth: My favourite NHL player, and he’s still got the best hair in Hockey!! ha
What are your thoughts--the upcoming NHL season? My Choices? Lemme know HERE _______________________________________________________

So Brian Johnson of AC/DC is having a birthday today. Happy 63rd Brian! Gotta say, AC/DC is one of, if not, my favourite band of all time. So, as a small tribute to Brian and the band, below is an excellent Jim Breuer clip. His take on AC/DC. If you are unfamiliar, Jim Breuer is a comedian, you may recognize him from SNL. Jim is also a big heavy metal fan. Enjoy!..
Hey why not a little more, here's Jim again. This time he talks about a few heavy metal bands, and kids songs. Something for the entire family!...Oh, by the way his Brain Johnson walk at 3:10 kills me every time, it's perfect!! haha

Katy Perry's appearance on Seasame Street this season is a little too risque for the show. This according to some parents, as PBS has received complaints sighting Katy's dress being too revealing. The dress in question appears during a song she sings with Elmo. Since receiving the complaints the clip has been pulled from Seasame Street broadcasts, but it's now racking up the views on Youtube. Watch it below:
Do you think Katy Perry's outfit is too revealing for Seasame Street? I say no.....If it is, then put some pants on Elmo while you are at it!! This is ridiculous, some people have too much time on their hands! Agree?, Disagree? drop me a line HERE --Gilmore
Well it was a huge night on Sunday at the MTV Video Music Awards. Lady Gaga went in holding a record 13 nominations. Most by any one artist in a single year ever. She did pretty good too, winning 8 including Video of the Year for "Bad Romance". But check this out, of all people Peter Gabriel holds the record for most VMAs in a single year. In 1987 he took home 10 awards for "Sledgehammer". Found em' both for you, check out their videos below:
Peter Gabriel "Sledgehammer"
Here is Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance" video. Although Peter won more awards there is no denying Lady Gaga rules Youtube. 276,303,964 views, and counting, that is INSANE!!
Well the big day has arrived, we have a winner for B93's Back to School contest. Congratulations to Carly McKinnon. She won our huge prize pack courtesy of Wilson's Business Solutions. Read her story below in an early blog post. Right now is today's final prize qualifier. This story comes from Sara Jackson, here is what she did on summer vacation:
What I did on summer vacation . . .
School’s out and that means, camping trips! I’m so excited until, Dad changes plans . . . he decides he wants to build us a NEW cabin. While my Dad was working on the Cabin I decided to be a big help and drive lunch and snacks from the old cabin, to the new cabin, on our four wheeler, where my dad was working very, very hard!
My Dad sometimes would take a break to bring my sister and her friends and I tubing and swimming. Sometimes if he couldn’t leave my Papa would take us. Also, my Papa would bring us on his big boat to Sha Sha Resort with my whole family.
My Dad decided to take a break from building. So, we decided to go to Hinckley and camp at the Grand Casino. All of our friends were there so, we had lots of fun! Of course I don’t gamble so thankfully there were three pools and an arcade for us kids to go to.
We went camping in Hinckley again. This time my Mom pulled the trailer all by herself with me in the passenger’s seat. My Mom stressed a little but, after we were hooked and leveled, she got to relax for three days! I did lots of swimming this trip as usual!!
Time for school again, wow, time really does go by fast when you’re having fun! Thank you, B93 for taking time to read my essay.

B93's Back to School Contest wraps up tomorrow. Just one more grandprize qualifier will be drawn, listen tomorrow morning to see if it's your Summer Vacation story! Today's story was submitted by Connor & Carleigh Bates. New to the area, their summer story below talks about moving to Fort Frances, enjoy:
It was July 7th, the U-Haul was loaded, the dog, who had never left home, was clueless, all of the goodbyes were said, tears were flowing, and we were off on an adventure of a lifetime. From the deserts of Nevada, Reno to be exact, through Idaho, Montana, North Dakota, and Minnesota, we arrived in Fort Frances, Ontario - our future home. With "Canada Dan" leading the way, mom, Carleigh, the barfy dog (Gilmore Note: I think/hope they meant barky, yikes!), and myself, we drove to Bear Pass to our lake home. For the next month or so, we swam, tubed, fished, boated, met lots of friendly people, and unpacked a bit, although our house is still full of boxes.
The dog has adjusted pretty well, but she likes to explore Canada on her own for hours at a time. As for my sister and I, we also have adjusted to life in Canada. We love to swim and I like living in the wilderness. We've seen two bears, some deer, and a bunch of rabbits and squirrels. We have a large garden filled with fresh fruits, vegetables, and some herbs, which I think is very neat too.
So, what did we do on our summer vacation - we moved from a busy, bustling city in the USA to a quiet little town in Canada and we love it!
Connor & Carleigh Bates
Connor & Carleigh's story is in for tomorrow's draw, congratulations again to them, and welcome to the area!Drop a line anytime HERE with your thoughts on the Contest, B93, Whatever! -Gilmore
Hope you had an excellent long weekend! I know it's a short week, but it's another busy one here in the area. Back to School for students in Minnesota!, The Blood Donor Clinic is on in Fort Frances (Wed & Thurs at the High School), & at B93 we do the grandprize draw for our Back to School contest this week. Below is our latest qualifying story. It's from Maria Gilbert
Splash! Was the sound of the crashing waves tumbling me and my best friend into the wave pool at Noah's Ark Water park. My family and I were taking a vacation to Wisconsin Dells Minnesota.
My brother Bryce and I each brought a friend. I'm not a big ride person. Usually I'll get sick if I go on rides. And trust me, it's not pretty!!!! Anyways, Bryce and Cameron (the friend he brought) went on a ride called the Scorpions Tale. It drops 50 ft per second. I know that's crazy! Once they got off the ride they both looked a little dizzy but let's face it, I didn't really care.
Time passed and it was getting time for some lunch, but Jenna and I wanted to go on just one more ride... the Sting Ray!! The Sting Ray was a ride where it looked like a sting ray curled up into a big U shape. Jenna was crazy about the ride but from the looks of it I wasn't so fussy on it. I just had to go on. Maybe I'd get over my fear of rides? So we grabbed a 2 person tube and got into the line up.
The line took only about 5 minutes. When it came to our turn I suddenly got the butterflies, bad. Jenna and I both hopped into the tube and the life guard gave us a push. My eyes flew right open and my mouth just dropped. It was the wildest ride in my life! As the day went on we continued to yell and scream on rides and this trip was the highlight of my summer!!!
Our friends Jenna and Cameron had a blast and so did we. Wisconsin Dells was a trip to remember.
Maria Gilbert
Congrats to Maria, she's in for Thursday's draw!... Thoughts?, ideas?, great recipe for fruit cake? (yeah, as if they exist :-P) drop me a line about anything HERE --Gilmore
If you missed it this morning, the brother & sister duo of Graham and Rachel Anderson are the latest grandprize qualifiers for B93's Back to School contest. Here's their "What did you do on your Summer Vacation" story:
Our Summer Vacation by Graham and Rachel Anderson.
The summer started off great with our annual BBQ on July 1st at Pither's Point Park. The rain had stopped the day before leaving huge puddles to run and play in at the park. Then when it was dark, we sat at the ball park right under the fireworks and celebrated our country's birthday along with the start of a great summer. Later in July we went to Duluth to see the Air Show, it was awesome! There were over 5000 people there and it was HOT!
August was a busy month with a 5 day camping trip to north of Atikokan. We both came home with alot of mosquito bites and a few other bugs we didn't want, but it was great fun! We also did alot of fishing on great ol Rainy Lake. My dad found a great fishing hot spot that he marked on his graf so all we had to do was go right to the spot and start fishing! Also we went sailing with friends of ours on a sail boat and that was great fun.!
At the end of August we got a new puppy. She is a yellow lab and her name is Ginger. We have been busy trying to train her and keep her from chewing everything in site. Yes we had a excellent summer vacation, but we missed our friends and are glad to be going back to school! (so are our parents we think)
Thank you for letting us tell you all about our summer vacation, it was fun to remember all the things we did!
Tune in tomorrow morning at 7:10 to find out our latest grandprize qualifier. Drop me a line HERE anytime -Gilmore
Congratulations to our latest grandprize qualifier Kenna Robertson for B93's Back to School contest. Asking "What did you do on your Summer Vacation" here is Kenna's story:
What I did this summer was me and my family went to London, On to visit family. We got to do a lot of fun things we went glow in the dark mini golfing and did tons of shopping too. We went to Niagara Falls and stayed at this big water park with one of those funnel slides and got to go up Clifton Hill and go in a fun house, Ripley’s believe it or not and on the big sky wheel with 42 carts! After we got back to London we had to get ready to leave in three days so we tried to fun while it lasted.
When we got back to Fort Frances I took two friends up to the cabin, we went tubing every single day me and a friends fell out paddling, not tubing paddling we just couldn’t believe it! We went fishing with a paddle boat it was so crowded we had 2 fishing rods, minnows, a net, bucket, and food. But never even caught any fish. I got to go to the Emo fair for the first time too. I went on the til-ta-wurl, swinging ship and the star ship 2000 about 10 times and also had the best time ever.
P.s. I don’t think i could have a better summer!! J By: Kenna Robertson

So far we have 2 qualifiers for our grandprize draw. Congratulations again to Kaylen Cunningham & Carly McKinnon. Check out their full stories:
Kaylen Cunningham:
Dear B93:
I am so happy to tell B93 about my summer. It was so much fun!
During the summer, my family got to take care of Mrs. King’s class pet – a rat named Miko. Miko is very nice to people and kids, and doesn’t bite. We like her a lot.
My family went to Minneapolis. It was especially fun going to the Lego Store and Nickelodeon Universe. The jellyfish at the Underwater Adventure Aquarium was also very cool.
The Fort Frances Canadian Bass Championship was extra exciting this year. Besides my grandpa winning first place in the tournament, I won a prize in the Boston Pizza colouring contest, and took 4th place in the minnow races. (My brother’s minnow was faster than mine, but I was still a bit happy for him.)
I read 20 books for the Library’s Summer Reading Program. I really like the new library – the computer-touch table is very cool.
My great grandparents celebrated their 70th anniversary with a nice family dinner. They have been together such a long time and love each other.
My family spent time at my grandparent’s cabin – fishing, catching frogs, and watching hummingbirds. We even took a boat ride through the cave into Tunnel Bay.
We spent some time at Pither’s Point. I especially liked looking for crayfish. We caught 12 of them, but let them go without harm.
We also spent some time in Emo during the summer. My brother and I had fun at the new spray park. The Emo Fair was a big hit. I liked going on the rides there.
Summer was really great! Now that summer is nearly done, I look forward to going back to school to see my friends -- and learn a bit, too -- until next summer.
Hi Gilmore: My name is Carly Mckinnon and I am 10 years old and going into grade 6. On my summer vacation I stayed in our beautiful town and enjoyed everything it has to offer, I went to my best friends cabin on Rainy Lake for a week and went fishing and tubing. Also every Thursday night I went to VanJura ballpark and watched my dad play fastball for the Sight and Sound Wolves and I would swim at Pither's Point Park if it was nice out. We camped at the Point too.
I took my cousins from London down the LaVerendrye Parkway and went on to the Hallet and climbed the awesome Tower overlooking the water, then we went to the Sorting Gap Marina and had the best ice cream ever. I love the double scoop strawberry. YUM. I also really liked the Bass parade and all the boats. I biked and rollerbladed down the Parkway with my Mom and Dad alot. I went to hockey school in International Falls and it was fun.
On July 1, I went to Barwick to watch the Sight and Sound Wolves play fastball in their tournament and in the evening watched the fireworks down by the waterfront with my Dad. They were awesome. Last weekend I went to the Emo fall fair and had the best time on all the rides and had an Elephant Ear and a snow cone . On Sunday after the fair I took my 2 year old cousin to the Emo spray park. What a fun place to be. They worked really hard on that.
Last night I watched my Dad win the Rainy River Fastball Championship against Barwick. Finally this weekend I am going camping in Morson before going back to school at JW Walker. You don't have to leave town to have a great summer. Sunset Country has so much to offer and if I was a visitor reading this I would sure want to come and see our beautiful town. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME! I hope you think my essay is good Gilmore.
Carly Mckinnon

If you missed it on the show this morning, couple things. Britney Spears just finished filming her first appearance on Glee (it airs in September) and producers are already saying they want her back. Second thing, the original Kermit the Frog is getting donated to the Smithsonian Institute in Washington! Below is an early video of Kermit from Jim Henson's original show "Sam and Friends" the precursor to "The Muppets"... Watch the video and keep in mind about what you hear at the end!!....

So, two years ago Joaquin Phoenix decided to quit acting. He grew the beard, made an EPIC appearence on Letterman, all the while saying he was embarking on a rap career. A documentary has been made, set for release this fall. Better yet, I've got the trailer! Found this today, the trailer is shorty, but a goody.
Give it a look: "I'm Still Here" Predictions for more Joaquin epicness a-la his visit with Letterman.....I'm givin' it a solid 83% probablity!
Since we are at it, here's the full Letterman interview for your review: Dave/Joaquin
