These Are The Things I Think About -- Dec 19th-25th

Be careful next time someone suggest you go dutch. This week on Dutch TV, the hosts of a show called “Test Rabbits” ate each other’s flesh. Curious to know what the other tasted like they both had a piece of muscle removed from their left butt cheek and abdomen. A chef then pan-fried the pieces infront of the studio audience…Creepy! I hear we taste like chicken

Early in the week we found out 2011's must have Christmas gift. In year’s past it was Tickle Me Elmo, well this time around it’s apparently a different redhead, Lindsay Lohan. Specifically the Lindsay Lohan issue of Playboy. Hitting store shelves the Friday before Christmas, parts of the US saw massive sellouts. Playboy also received re-orders from smaller cities for the first time ever, and subscription sales are up. It’s a Christmas miracle for Hugh Hefner…like he needs it.
--Lindsay did go as a blonde for the photo shoot by the way. All us fellow redheads are mad at her!--

In music, when it comes to Lady Gaga we now know who to blame. Donald Trump. Owning the Miss Universe Pagent, Donald says it was his choice to have Lady Gaga perform for it in 2008; hence he is responsible for starting the Lady Gaga phenomena. Of course these days Lady G’s success is almost as big as Donald Trumphs ego.

Here's something to make you shudder. Whoppi Goldberg has let it be known he used to be a phone sex operator. Doing it when she first started out in Hollywood, she says the money was great. …No word on how the phone sex was though...uuuggghh!

And finally, just so you know. Jessica Simpson is out with her new jewelry collection. She says the collection really reflects her. You can’t help but agree. Big diamonds on top, they are absolutely beautiful, and when looking at Jessica Simpson’s jewels you always wonder, are they real ;-)

--Oh P.S. Here's a cool tidbit for ya:
Turning to Bond, James Bond. Current “007” actor Daniel Craig is being pursued by the studio to sign on for 5 more movies. Already starring in 3, if he agrees it will make him the longest running James Bond of all time. Roger Moore currently holds the title. --By the way I am doing a James Bond survey. Lemme know who your favourite Bond is! Put in your vote on The Gilmore Fan Page on Facebook!

P.S.S.-- And the worst joke you will read today, guaranteed!
--Kim Jong Ill died, at the age of 69. In his honour he is being made into a Mr. Potato Head, you know, cause he was a real Dick-Tater... Booyah...So bad it's good

These Are The Things I Think About -- Dec 12th-18th

Well Fear Factor made its return to TV Monday. Joe Rogan-check, Gross out bugs-check…Obligatory challenge involving bikini wearing-check. Welcome back Fear Factor formula… Oh, a rare Triple F sequenced sentence….score 50 points!

Elsewhere from the entertainment world, Brooke Mueller headed to rehab and Charlie Sheen now plans to watch their kids in the meantime. This will certainly be a Christmas those kids will never forget...No matter how much therapy.

Talking Christmas, Wednesday was official “Re-Gifting Day”. Good ‘ole re-gifting, the perfect chance to pass off the bad Christmas sweater you got last year. Just remember the golden rule, don’t re-gift to the person who gave it to you… it gets awkward!

By the way, if you’re still looking for the perfect Christmas gift for the dirty old man in your life. Lindsay Lohan’s issue of “Playboy” came out Friday…hey, just trying to help you out here.

Also as we head toward the end of the year, Time Magazine has named The Protestor as the 2011 person of the year. Lame Time Magazine, real lame. Ironically, you almost feel like protesting their choice.

And finally, announced this week, a new reality series about Clint Eastwood's family is in the works. Focusing on his wife and daughters, Clint will make cameos!…I hear when approached about the project Clint’s reply was “Go ahead film my days…Punk!” …(That actually does work well when said in a good Dirty Harry voice...just sayin'..)

--Oh P.S. Here's this week's weirdest fact: Strange but true, Police in Los Angeles say tubas are being stolen in record numbers. Seems they are a hot commodity on the black market. I’m serious, look it up!

P.S.S.-– This weeks coolest fact (no pun intended):
According to Environment Canada a septillion snowflakes fall on Canada every year. A septillion is the number 1 followed by 24 zeros. That's a lot of snowflakes! Of course a minus 1 followed by 24 zeros, is the temperature parts of Canada hit come February. ;-)

These Are The Things I Think About -- Dec 5th-11th

Lots happened in Music this week. On Monday, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees were announced. The 2012 class includes Guns N’ Roses, Red Hot Chili Peppers and the Beastie Boys. This year’s induction ceremony goes in April. Among those passed over this year were The Cure, Joan Jett, Heart, and War…Especially tough for them as I hear they’d already polished up the Low Rider for the ceremony.

Elsewhere, with Christmas approaching, Linkin Park are asking for 10 dollar donations to purchase solar powered light bulbs for those without power in Haiti this holiday season. A great cause. Hats off to Linkin Park… however, “solar powered light bulbs”… doesn’t that phrase belong in a newfie joke?!...just sayin'

In the entertainment world this week, Harry Potter died*… Oh wait, wait, wait…It was Harry Morgan, who played Colonel Potter on MASH, who died…Whoops. Harry passed away Wednesday, the long time actor was 96**.

They’ve crunched the numbers, this year to buy all the items in “The 12 Days of Christmas” it would cost you just over 101 thousand dollars. The most expensive item being 7 swans a-swimming, they come in at $6300… However, face it, going to see 9 ladies-a-dancing could get pretty pricey too.

And finally, a new survey is out says 10% of women admit they can’t keep a secret…Of course this survey also proves 90% of women are liars… ha! ;-)

--P.S. *-got the joke from my desk neighbour at work. All credit, or boos to them.
**-Famous folk die in 3’s. The other two were Dobie Gray & Barbara Orbison, 23 years to the day after husband Roy Orbison.

These Are The Things I Think About -- Nov28th-Dec 4th

We kicked off the week with “Cyber Monday”, the internet version of “Black Friday”. A day you could shop online for huge deals. Plus you avoid the Pepper Spray, Gunshots and Tramplings traditional Black Friday shopping offers...Oh yeah, and being able to shop in your gitch is always a bonus!

In sports, the Toronto Maple Leafs proved they indeed are the centre of the hockey universe. Once again, they are the most valuable franchise in the NHL…Deal with it haters!…The new list is out from Forbes, the Leafs are worth 521 million dollars. The New York Rangers are second and Montreal Canadians are in at 3rd. And you know Gary Bettman would somehow argue Phoenix is doing better then all of them…. Go Leafs Go!

Up next beer. Remember Hanson?…sadly we do. Well, the former boy band brothers are coming out with their own beer. And, ripping off the title of their biggest hit, they are calling the beer “MMMhop”….I hear just like their music, the Hanson beer will be weak and unpalatable*.

And finally, it was on Tuesday’s date 36 years ago the term ‘Micro-soft’ first appeared. It was in a letter from Bill Gates to company co-founder Paul Allen...You’d think it would be about the business. But, I hear it was actually about a hot date gone horribly wrong... Zing!

--P.S. Little extra this week from some useless trivia I learned:
Where is the windiest place on earth?…The correct answer is Antarctica.
..And all this time I was certain it was the bathroom at Taco Bell!

P.S.S. --(*-unpalatable, good word!)
