These Are The Things I Think About -- Apr16th-22nd

Well The 3 Stooges are in trouble… sorta their thing right. The new movie opened last weekend and the Catholic League is angry, claiming the movie mocks Nuns. I don’t know Catholic Church, I think you’ve got more things to worry about then a Three Stooges movie.

I went to see it by the way. A big fan of The 3 Stooges, I was concerned they wouldn’t capture the essence of Moe, Larry & Curly in the movie. But they did! The parts were really well done, and the movie was funny, go see it! I'm not the only one either, reviews are out and it’s a hit. First weekend out it was number 2 behind The Hunger Games. Not too shabby! Yep, audiences everywhere love seeing all that classic hitting, slapping & hair pulling. It's like a movie version of the NHL Playoffs!

Moving on, Pope Benedict turned 85 this past Monday. Question, they name the Popes right? (his real name is Joseph Ratzinger) Well, get this, Monday was also official “Eggs Benedict Day”…Perhaps those Vatican officials need a lesson in creativity. Not sayin’ I’m just sayin’. I wonder how close we got to having a Pope Pop Tart… Or, should I say Pope Earth… Yes, today is Earth Day kids! Hope you did something to recognize.

And finally, word came down this week, alongside a jail in Quebec, the Kingston Penitentiary is going to be shut down. Officials say this will happen inside the next 3 years. I hear other jails are now drawing straws to see who gets stuck with Paul Bernardo…."Damn, short straw....Um, anyone up for best 2 outta 3?!"

--Oh P.S. Remember, it's always worth taking a look through your old junk from time to time. Although issued as a June edition, this past Wednesday in 1938 'Action Comics #1' starring Superman debuted. An original copy of the comic is now worth 1.5 million dollars…Even the cheque DC Comics wrote to acquire the rights to Superman is worth serious cash. Written to Jerry Siegel & Joe Shuster for $412, the cheque sold at auction for $160,000.....Who knows what some of your crap might be worth!
