These Are The Things I Think About -- April2nd-9th

Happy Easter Monday to all! And also keep in mind, today is the 95th anniversary of the beginning of the Battle of Vimy Ridge. Huge event in Canadian History. If you are absolutely clueless and know nothing of what this is all about, please, take your head outta you’re a$$ and read a book. This one’s important…

OK, moving on. Starting with TV, rumour is Kirsten Wiig, Andy Samberg and Jason Sudeikis could be leaving Saturday Night Live after this season. You know what this means, starting next year everyone will talk about how great the show was back when they were on it and how it sucks now. Come on we do it with every era of SNL. Show's always been funny, always will be, end of story.

More in entertainment, Jessica Simpson has been offered a 3 million dollar deal to become the new spokesperson for Weight Watchers. Personally, I hope she’s considering it. Let’s face it, she’s gotta pay her pregnancy grocery bill somehow. Have you seen her lately?…The girl’s a Whale!

Cool news from late night TV. David Letterman and Craig Ferguson renewed their deals with CBS. Both will continue until 2014. Plus, by doing so Dave will break Johnny Carson’s 30-year record of hosting a late night talk show. Very Cool. Dave is also, deservedly, the highest paid of all late night hosts.

In sports, NHL playoffs start Wednesday!! Also, this past Thursday was opening day in Major League Baseball. Get this one, true fact, Major League Baseball teams will go through 850 thousand balls this year...Yeah, just shy of the personal goal set out by Paris Hilton*.

Finally, in music, sons of Paul McCartney, George Harrison & John Lennon are interested in forming a “next generation” Beatles band. Ringo’s kids seem to be the least interested…. As am I. Admittedly, I’m not a big Beatles fan, maybe I’m missing something in all this, but why? I say just let it be. Seriously, no Beatle-y pun intended either.

--Oh P.S. Little extra is from an interesting story I caught last week. A guy at a garage sale in Las Vegas bought a weird painting for 5 bucks. Turns out this painting was done by Andy Warhol. It’s a one of a kind, done back when Warhol was a kid. 10 or 11 years old. The painting is signed, and the new owner has discovered its worth an estimated 2 million dollars. What a find! But I makes me wonder, how many other people looked at that painting that day? Who else over looked it? Or, would the guy have bought it if they wanted say 10-15 bucks instead of 5?…With spring garage sales coming up make sure you give those random photos, paintings and velvet Elvis’ a second look. Who knows were the next 2 million dollar item is sitting.

P.S.S.-- * Had to take that one to facebook. In doing a survey of who the skankiest lady out there is, Josh Hoffman, fellow radio guy at work, (read about Josh HERE) took the win with Paris Hilton….Oh Paris, you’re not even in the news much anymore and still considered top skank. Good for you!
