These Are The Things I Think About -- Jan23rd-29th
*Nothing Else Matters-Brother, Enter Sandman-Brother, etc.. A little silly I know, but it’s the best I could come up with. Yep, it’s Sad But True---Brother ;-)
Moving on, sad news this week as "Price Is Right" host Drew Carey and his fiancé Nicole have called off their engagement. I hear it all came down to the ring. Instead of going the safe route and saying 1 dollar she guessed higher then Drew wanted to spend on one.
In Entertainment, Jay Leno is being sued. This over a Mitt Romney joke he recently made. Thing is, I’ve heard it's actually part a huge class action lawsuit against all of Leno’s jokes…cause they’re not funny.
Elsewhere, story continues Top Gun 2 might be in the works! Tom Cruise himself saying if with the right story he’s in. Hmm, could we see the return of Maverick and the Ice Man?…Here’s hoping, and hey if not… ”Maverick & The Ice Man” Don't know about you, but I smell sitcom!!…. Or 80s cop show at the very least!... Cue saxophone solo!
And, from history…. it was Thursday’s date in 2009, the term "Octomom" was born. Pun intended. That was the day Nadya Suleman give birth to octuplets. If you didn’t know this, she was already a mother of six. So technically, she is the Tetradecagon-mom… Tetradecagon --look it up!

--Oh, P.S. A little extra this week on how you can blow some serious cash fast! The Superbowl is set, The Patriots VS The Giants. The game goes Sunday in Indianapolis. And, for 750 thousand dollars you can have a suite at one of the End zones. Don’t worry your 750 thousand dollars will include tickets to the game, food & drinks, and yes your parking pass…. Well isn't that nice of them to include parking.
As for the game, I couldn’t care less but my call is Patriots…
--P.S.S. *entire sentence works best when spoken outloud in your best Hulk Hogan voice…. (go back and try it again..do it…You know you want to…doooo it!)

These Are The Things I Think About -- Jan 15th-22nd
Well Yankee Idol started Wednesday. American Idol season 11. BARF!!.. Seriously, tell me if I’m wrong, has this show not completely gone from finding the most talented singer out there to a horribly over marketed circus of annoyance?
–hmm “circus of annoyance”—I’m keeping that as my new term for the show! In one slight silver lining. Ratings of American Idol/The Circus of Annoyance are down big time…like 27 percent down. Maybe a sign people are finally sick of it? We can only hope.
In history this week, Tuesday marked the anniversary the flush toilet being invented back in 1861. –(Reminder: Insert a crappy joke here)-
In positive news. The government has done something right! Canada won’t be letting Lindsay Lohan into the country. Set to come north of the border to film a movie, Lindsay’s past year of crimes & court appearances has finally caught up with her. According to the Canadian government, "If you were convicted of an offense in Canada or outside of Canada that is considered a crime in Canada, you are considered to be criminally inadmissible to Canada." Take that LiHo!!
Elsewhere, in Hollywood news a medical marijuana dispensary has started selling a new type of weed called "OG Blue Ivy." They named the new product after Beyonce & Jay Z’s new daughter. Not to be outdone I hear Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt are happy to hear “Shiloh Black Tar Heroin” is hitting L.A. streets soon.
In music, confirmed this week, rapper LL COOL J will host this year’s Grammys. Running in February he will be the Grammys’ first host in 7 years. Grammy officials are quick to point out though to not call it a comeback, they’ve been here for years. Anybody get that one?*
In the business world this week we caught a sign of our current changing times. Kodak has filed for bankruptcy. One time dominating the photography industry, Kodak admits it has failed to keep up with modern technologies, such as the digital camera. The painful irony is they invented it!…
Boy, what I wouldn’t give for a picture of the Kodak executives faces when they realized they needed to file for bankruptcy. …What, too soon?
And some sad news this week as Dave Evans, the founder of Cracker Barrel has passed away. I hear his wishes are to be cremated, though Dave has asked to be sliced up and placed on Triscuits first!**

--Oh P.S. Tim Horton’s has started rolling out it’s new cup sizes...Not sure about you, but I am always Pro bigger cup sizes... This is for all their hot drinks, coffee, tea,etc.. Basically we are getting a new larger “extra large”, and with that, all the other sizes will bump up one. So, what is a large now is rebranded as a medium. What is now a medium will become the new small size. What is now a....nevermind. If you can’t figure this out you deserve to order the wrong size.
P.S.S-- *incase the LLCoolJ reference didn’t quite click with you… GO HERE
**that joke would have been so good, but, Dave Evans was actually the founder of the Cracker Barrel restaurant chain in the US, not Cracker Barrel, the tasty line of cheeses… Dang, so close!

These Are The Things I Think About -- Jan 9th-14th
From our Canadian girls are tough file. Reports are a woman in Winnipeg was shot in the eye last weekend, AND she refused treatment until after she finished her beer. A tough prairie girl indeed.
A sad but kinda awesome story. A man in Scotland recently took his own life by jumping into a vat of Scotch at the Glenfiddich Distillery. Sad because he did drown. But, lets face it, if that’s how he really wanted to go, I say a confident accepting slow clap to him…Well played.
And talking Scotch…Ever wish you could buy it in a can… Now you can do just that. Yep, Scotch in a can.... GO HERE for deets!
Moving on, turns out more then just Germans love David Hasselhoff. So do Oceanographers. Recently discovering a new crab in the ocean, they are nicknaming it "The Hasselhoff". Why?, seems just like Dave, this new type of crab has a hairy chest. This does however pose the question, would you really want to have crabs named after you?…Just sayin'
Very cool news from AMC this week. The cable channel has confirmed a Goodfellas TV series is in the works! Based on the Martin Scorsese movie --arguably the best mob movie ever-- the show will prequel the movie. AMC's Goodfellas will be set in the 60s and follow the early life of Henry Hill (played by Ray Liotta in the 1990 film)
--In honour of the movie, here are some cool links to check out: One Camera Shot, Joe Pesci's Oscar Speech, One Serious Pistol Whippin', I'm Funny How?!--
Finally, a few interesting notes from this week in entertainment history. It was 13 years ago Wednesday “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart” debuted. Taking over for Craig Kilborn, you’ll agree Jon and the show haven’t looked back since.
Also on Wednesday’s date, it marked 20 years since “Smells Like Teen Spirit” by Nirvana reached its peak at #6 on the charts. Yep, 20 years!...You feel old now, don't you?!... Little did we know in 1991, but the song would be very significant in usering in a new movement in rock music with the grunge/alternative scene. Also, here we are all those years later Dave Grohl recently had some inspirational words regarding Rock and Roll, quote: “I don’t think there’s anything wrong with rock at all…right now the current musical climate is not unlike it was back in 1991, right before Nirvana got popular.” Dave adds “I feel like that’s about to happen again. Something’s got to give”…I agree. Infact, I have a whole personal theory music is set to undergo another big change the next few years. I'll save my theory for another day, but I will say it is nice to hear someone like Dave Grohl touching on this same idea. Long live Rock & Roll!

--Oh P.S.
Do you like James Bond?....Do you like the James Bond music?...How about with lyrics?!.. WARNING: this does contain potty mouth....But it is pretty F*%kin' funny. Enjoy!
