May is here!...Spring?!, still waiting for it aren’t we.
It’s huge days for Star Wars fans. May 4th tomorrow, May the 4th Be With You… Yes, this is a thing. And people get way too wound up for it. By the way, Star Wars nerds, watch out for Monday. May 5th, Revenge of the Fifth. Yes this too is a thing.
These next two dates on the calendar are very fitting, as the new Star Wars movie cast was announced this week. Confirmed, Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, and Carrie Fisher will be back. So will the original actors behind Chewbacca, C-3PO and R2D2. Even the music will feel familiar. John Williams will be back to compose the score…A suggested running title for the new movie: ‘Return of the Geriatrics’…You know with Luke CanewithWalker.
FHM magazine are out with their 2014 Sexiest Women list. This year it’s Jennifer Lawrence who tops the list. British actress Michelle Keegan, best known from ‘Coronation Street’ sits at second…Look her up, and you’ll now understand why people watch Coronation Street.
Tony Danza and the Big Bang Theory will be represented well at the Kentucky Derby this year; The 140th running of the ‘Greatest 2 Minutes in Sports’, as they call it. Horses named Danza and Big Bazinga will be among the field. Post time is 6:24 on Saturday, just in time for NBC to cut away coverage from a NHL playoff game in overtime…Cause yes, yes NBC does do this.
Finally, over to a network not run by idiots, CBS. Following David Letterman’s recent retirement announcement, another bombshell has dropped. Craig Ferguson has announced he is stepping down as host of the ‘Late Late Show’…Wha?!!
David Letterman touched a little on Craig’s brilliance this week*. And, myself, I have long spoke of the sheer brilliance of a Craig Ferguson monologue**. Now the big question, who will replace Craig?
...One online rumour starting up this past Friday was a push for Norm MacDonald. Personally, and sadly, I don’t see CBS doing this; It’s really too bad, cause Norm MacDonald hosting pretty much anything, is awesome. TV is always better with Norm. Follow the twitter hashtag #LateLateNormNorm to keep up to speed.

--Oh P.S. *-Letterman talking about Craig Ferguson:
P.S.S.-- **-a fitting monologue sample of Craig talking about Dave, the day news broke of Dave’s sex scandal:
…It will be a massive loss to Late Night TV when these 2 sign off.
