First up, a belated Happy Father’s Day to all the Dads out there. You’re your day was great I hope. And to non-Fathers, hope you didn’t get any surprise Father’s Day cards in the mail this year.
More proof vinyl is making a comeback. I’ve been saying it for years, --my latest, cassettes too are making a comeback…You hear it here first!!-- and numbers are starting to show it. The latest, Jack White’s new album Lazaretto has sold over 40 thousand vinyl copies since last Tuesday; making it the highest first week vinyl sales for an album since 1991. Adding in digital downloads and CDs also makes Jack’s album debuted at number 1. This is good news. Rock & Roll ain’t dead just yet my friend…I’ll bore you with my whole theory, and reasons why I think rock is set to make a comeback another time.
Elsewhere in the Rock World, Ozzy Osbourne is adding cartoon voicing, or mumbling at least, to his resume. He’s set to guest voice a character on the cartoon Bubble Guppies. The character’s name is Sid Fishy, and is described as a fish who loves being rotten. Me thinks the Bubble Guppies writers are Sex Pistols fans.
It’s been some wild news about Tracy Morgan the past few weeks. His tour bus got hit by an 18 wheeler in a nasty accident. His friend and fellow comedian, James McNair, died in the crash. Tracy meanwhile has been in hospital with some serious injuries. Good news, he was upgraded to fair condition this week. Here’s hoping he’s still Bat Shit crazy though, cause that’s what makes Tracy, Tracy. And awesome.
Unfortunately on the other end of things, I’m sure you heard, this past Sunday radio icon Casey Kasem died, he was 82. Sadly a huge family battle surrounded Casey’s final days. One can only speculate it wil; continue when it comes to sorting out Casey’s final wishes; Which, I hear, can be found hidden in the lyrics of this number 2 song from 1972. Now on to our long distance dedication. (all said in your best Casey Kasem voice of course!...Zoinks!!*)
Actually a little dedication actually going out to James Gandolfini. It’s hard to believe, though it was a year ago Thursday, James died of a heart attack. James of course best known as Tony Soprano. James Gandolfini, missed by many.

-- Oh P.S. *-Yes Casey Kasem was the voice of Shaggy on Scooby Doo, if you didn’t know
