Well it is an historical week to say the least, Scotland’s vote on Independence went on Thursday. It was a close vote, and in the end the majority went to 55% voting to stay with the UK. To celebrate a decision made, I say fire up the bag pipes!..Or grab a cat and squeeze it if that’s easier. Pretty much sounds the same right?!*
From Scotland to the US. Sarah Palin and her family gave us a good ‘ole dose of ‘Merica, late last week. Word is the Palin family got into a drunken brawl at birthday party in Alaska. Oh classy!...Police do confirm a brawl took place, the Palins were there, and alcohol was a factor. ’Merica!... a slow clap to you Ms. Palin and family.
What the heck is going on in the NFL?!. A few weeks into the season and seems even more arrests, charges, suspensions, and bans have happened than games. At this rate will there even be enough non-suspended players left to actually have games on Sunday come the end of the season. Yeesh!…And seriously, how does Roger Goodell still have a job?
To Late Night TV, one from the history books. It was 29 years ago this week the very first ‘Top 10 List’ aired on Letterman. Back in his Late Night with David Letterman** days on NBC. The list: Top 10 Things that Almost Rhyme with Peas.
And, a little more from NBC, they actually got a Late Night TV programming decision right the first time --A definite rarity for this network!…Tonight Show execs I’m looking at you..several times-- It was confirmed this week Darrell Hammond will return to Saturday Night Live as the shows new announcer. This following the passing of SNL announcer Don Pardo in August. The 40th season of Saturday Night Live, with Darrell behind the mic, airs next weekend.
