Colbert fans, Late Night TV fans, former Late Show fans, and Comedy fans in general can arguably all agree it was a great debut. You get the sense a great run is ahead for 'The Late Show with Stephen Colbert'.
And the numbers don't lie. 6.6 million people tuned in the first episode. The Late Show easily took top spot in the ratings for the night. True, first night tune-ins should be big, though these numbers certainly point to strong ratings ahead as well.

P.S.S.-- Colbertterman was the name I came up with when Stephen was named successor to David Letterman on the Late Show. A term for the changing of the guard; and still fitting, as the new regime has hints of the impact of the old.
