These Are The Things I Think About Feb13th-19th

Lets start with some cool news for Simpsons fans! Always a good way to start isn't it?!...Well, it was quite the Valentine’s Day for the show's creator Matt Groening. V-Day was the day Matt received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He was joined during the ceremony by show voice actors Hank Azaria, Nancy Cartwright and Yeardley Smith… By the way the Simpsons have just aired their 500th episode!

Animal lovers, if you missed it, the Westminster Dog show has wrapped up and Martha Stewart was best in breed. Well actually Martha Stewart’s dog, I should clarify. Yep, Martha’s dog is quite the bitch!…Seems Martha trained her well…:-P

A cool follow up on a story from a few weeks ago. The City of Hoboken New Jersey recently banned Jersey Shore from filming in the town, citing it would be degrading to its residents. Well the Italian American One Voice (IAOV) coalition has now honoured the town with an award for doing it, ha! Its interesting our culture has come this far; being Italian you are more insulted by people thinking you are like the folks on Jersey Shore then people thinking you are in the Mob…..Tells you just how moronic the show really is....

In a classy segue, now off to the state mobster Al Capone would rise to power in, Illinois. Get this one, the Prairie State is considering imposing a $5 skin tax to get into strip clubs. Strange but true, but I do hear you will be allowed to slip your 5 dollar bill into the strippers thong as a preferred method of payment. (useless sidenote: Gotta wonder how much cash Capone woulda made back in his day with a skin tax in place)

And finally, a little more entertainment news. Actor Jason Bateman and his wife Amanda are parents again. They had a baby girl. --Oh fer sweet-- And it’s a good thing for us. Why? Well, if it was a boy we would have to officially refer to him as Master Bateman, just sayin’…

We’ll end there!

--Oh P.S. Since it was on the 14th, here's a little Valentine's Day nugget for ya: Apparently during the 1800s tribes in Taiwan presented their loved ones with severed heads...Severed heads! Word is, a severed head would also be use to woo a potential bride too. Yikes! So, no matter how bad you're gifts were this year, given or received, it had to have been better then a severed head!... Plus, this story certainly gives new meaning to getting head on Valentine’s Day!
